S3 to Laptop Help

I have a windows 7 laptop that i hooked up my Alge s3 to. I installed the driver for the usb port to support data and also alge excel writer but the excel writer does not recognize the S3, does anyone have any suggestions.

Try running another program like "Com to File" first.

Remember that the S3 outputs at 2400, N, 7 , 1 not 2400,N,8,1 like other ALGE devices.

Also make sure you use the printer port on the S3 to start with. The display board port has two options that are 180 degrees apart. One option is net times only and the other is running time. You just want the net times.

The printer port only sends the net.
