Pinning the button on Hanhart Stopwatch Hand Timers

I know some people drill out an pin the "wrong" button on Hanhart stopwatches to prevent accidentally pressing it at the wrong moment, but there was a big gap between when I saw this at a T&C clinic and when we got Hanharts, so I don;t remember the details.

What size drill hole is best?

What size bolt/bolt cap works best?

THreaded bolt or Cotter pin best?

Any advice would be appreciated.
