Motocross timing solution? equipment to get?

loops - when people talk about loop length they normally mean the distance it has to cover rather than the length of the wire used! So for a 20m wide track you need a 20m loop

Just need to unzip and run the exe, its simple to setup, needs IP address of Orbits in communications tab, Port number is 50000 for Orbits 4, 60000 for Orbits 5

create a layout (NB seperate one for practice/qualifying and one for race)

It doesnt switch automatically between practice and race, and you cant have riders with same race number otherwise you get a blank line

you can play with fonts and sizes to put top few on a big big screen

I have over 10 years timing track events (speed motorcycling) and a few motocross events, the Mylaps system is expensive, but 100% reliable. Of course, you must take care of aspects that affect the readings: badly installed, discharged chips, broken antenna, defective cable. In the long run the investment is recovered depending on your prices and number of events.
