I have been using lynx with a new Toshiba laptop and I keep losing communication with the camera; when it dose work it is very slow. The gain and information with turn red and when I press the image button I get error message. I have to shut down laptop and camera to regain communication (which is slow). I have slowed network speed to 10 and disable all other networks. I have also updated the lynx software to the 6 version. I have turned off all firewall and virus scans on Laptop. I have used a hub and crossover cable (even shielded cables and a transceiver on the camera to help with radio signals) When I use the camera on another laptop it works great but I need this back up to work any advise???? PLEASE. This is driving me nuts and I have talked to lynx tech. support and they have no additional Ideas.

I assume you've tested the obvious:
1) Connect to c-box with hub to no
2) swapped patch cables
3) have set a static IP address on the laptop
4) test the RJ45 on the laptop by connecting the laptop to a wired network. find a large file download >10mb and do speed tests on the file between both computers.
5) have you watched the link lights on the laptop and camera to see if the link is dropping?
6) if a new laptop have obtained the latest NIC driver, OS updates and service packs?

What's the OS of the troubling laptop?
It does not sound like a hardware problem with the camera since it works on the other laptop. Therefore, your effort should stick to the PC side.
i have seen where some of the newer laptops --that come with built in fast ethernet cards (gigabit) do this with Lynx. Not sure why, but installing a secondary nic (10/100) (either pcmcia card or usb) fixed the issue. I have been told that using a 10/100/1000 switch does the same thing but i have not tested this yet myself.
