I have used both ALGE and TagHuer and the difference will come down to personal preference. I prefer ALGE TDC8001 wired as my primary system. I have been timing DH MTB events in Australia for 16+yrs.

Summit timing can provide a cost effective wireless solution. I haven't used it in anger but tested with the system and it seemed quite functional.
Check out the 500mw Microgate Enc radio data transmitter if you want to use the most powerful and dependable system. We have used these units with great success for MTB Downhill at the US Open and other big events for 3 seasons.

We know of a couple of customers using Summit timers but the range seems to be limited. You also need to use two timers one at the start and one at the finish.
