I get this question all the time and I know there are several good options out there... but, I'm curious what brand or model you timing guys would recommend to add additional serial ports to a PC?
Most of my customers seem to be on XP and sometimes they need to add more than 1 port (since serial ports are getting more rare, especially on notebooks)

Thanks,

In mission critical timing, I do not trust USB to Serial converters, especially if using XP. If your into timing, spend the extra money and use a pcmcia card to serial port.

We like to use the Socket Quad i/o card. A bit expensive but great having 4 serial ports. They also come in single and dual cards for those who don't crave all the serial ports. Don't forget DataLog, Display, Timer, and an extra just in case.
