I have 2 alge photo cell's with only the din plug connection. Can I make a cable with a din plug on it that I can convert and use with banana plugs? I have a timy and have no way to connect 2 photo cell's with Din plugs to it.

I found what I think is correct,

Pin 2-Signal-Red Banana Plug
Pin 3-GND-Black Banana Plug
Does it use the battery for power in this configuration?

Not sure which cell this is but you absolutely can make a connector to go from DIN to Banana. The pin out you mention should be correct, you can test with an ohm meter. Yes, it would be running on battery. If you are crafty, you could also install some banana jacks in the body as is standard on many ALGE cells.
You have to make another small jumper from PIN 3 ground to the small hole on the strain relief of the din plug. This allows the chrome shell of the din plug to act as the ground conductor between the battery and circuit board. This system was proven to be problem prone due to chemical corrosion and was replaced in the RLS1n models by the on/off switch and banana plug sockets.

A RLS1c model can be upgraded to the RLS1n model for $100.00 at the Phoenix shop.
