The ALGE S3 8lane version has a row of banana plugs located below the battery compartment. 8 red plugs for signal, 8 black for ground. All 8 ground plugs are tied together so it really doesn't matter which one you use.

Sometimes the S3 will lock when you are trying to set it up in HP mode to work with software. The problem is usually found with the 8 input circuit board. Remove the top cover and locate the ribbon cable that plugs into the 8 input board located under the battery box. Remove the ribbon cable and try to restart the timer. It should work. Of course you only have the START and STOP and PHOTOCELL channels, but that might get you through the event.

Send the S3 back to our shop and we will install a factory reconditioned 8 input board that will allow all of the channels to function.

Remember that the S3 timer ceased to be produced after 1993. Parts for these timers are running low. Please considor trading it in on an S4.
