TAG Heuer RFID system

Hello

I am quite new to RFID timing systems. I have used Tag Heuer photocell solution before for a while for different smaller endurance sports events. Now I am in a need for RFID system and because I have used Tag Heuer products before and already have CP545 I looked Tag Heuer RFID decoder. As far as I can understand I can combine this system with my CP545 and photocells for automatic competitor identification and use it with Elite V3 software which is free to use with CP545 so I do not need to invest for new software?

Can I also use this RFID system for timing bigger mass start events without photocells or do I need to invest for something extra? Chips on itschrono are quite expensive and it is said that other chips may not be read by their system, but I reckon Smartrac Dog Bones will do fine?

Happy to hear some pros and cons of tag heuer rfid system to make my decision easier.
