TAG Heuer HL920 Start Clock Issues | TimingGuys.com

Looking for some advice on our Start Clock. We only use it for alpine skiing and generally just turn it on and it works and all we do is push the start/stop buttons on it and change the interval as the race progresses.

However, we have turned it on this time and it's not "zeroing" to start. Instead the hour and minute hand go around and then both stop at 12:00 like they are supposed to, but the second hand just continues to cruise around the face (about 6 seconds per revolution) and nothing seems to stop it so we can use the clock.

Any suggestions?

When was the last time you changed the battery pack? Weak batteries are the number one problem with start clocks and other equipment asked to operate outside for an extended period.

I know that we used to schelp an external battery up to the start every day for the TAG clock when TAG was sponsoring the World Cup in the 80's

They would tend to hiccup after 3 hours or so when the battery got too low.

We discharged the battery completely and recharged it and it seems to be working now. We'll check into some sort of back up for the race.
