Does the Alge STSc M2S start gate and RLS1n photocell have Homologation numbes assigned?
What are they? Only timers are shown in the FIS Timing booklet.

The FIS is in the process of creating homologation requirements for sensors. Look for this to be a requirement in the future. Not now.
Rest assured, all ALGE and other top brands will meet the specs.

I think the real question is:
Will the present (same model number) units have a homologation number or will only newly purchased units have homologation?
Will everyone owning good start gates and photocells have to buy new ones to have homologation?

The concept of homologation is to take representaive samples of a production run and test them. If they pass, then all of the devices in that run pass by definition. The best way to look at this is to use the ALGE S3 as an example. Here is a timer that debuted in 1980. The first FIS homologation was in 1997. S3 timers were taken out of timing buildings and tested. They passed. Therefore we can expect that the same concept will be applied to cells and start gates. I cannot say for certain that a start gate or photocell from 1982 will pass. Odds are it will. ALGE started the current design of start gates in 1988 and the current photocell in 1990. Everything that I have seen so far would seem to indicate that anything made after 1990 will pass and be given a number.
