Several NASTAR resorts have called recently with problems related to their TAG-Heuer PTB 605 timers that were supplied in December of 2000 as part of the NASTAR GOLD package. Serial numbers of these timers are 200>270 or so. The first indication of a problem is either Channel 1 or 3 receiving extra pulses. This seems to be followed by Channel 1 latching closed. In one instance the 605 started smoking after that. Use of the TAG 553 impulse distributer is mandatory with this timer and does not seem to be the issue. We will gladly assist anyone with diagnosing these problems. Several resorts have gone back to using their old ALGE S3 and other ALGE timers and reported zero problems.
