ALGE will offer a "springless" start gate stick this season. The Stainless Steel threaded bolt is drilled to accept the standard yellow fiberglass stick. This stick will thread into any existing ALGE gate. The 17mm hex bolt can be installed by hand but you really should use a wrench.

We recently received our order of the new springless start gate sticks. They have different threading than the spring model. The new threading is 10mm x 1.5 We purchased a tap and pilot drill. We then retapped a STSM2S dual manual gate. There are no issues in doing this and it went very smoothly. The new stick has much longer threads so it is really advisable to leave the stick attached to the gate. Make sure a 17mm open end wrench is handy as well.
