While watching the Hungarian GP qualifying today a Lynx camera was shown in the TV shot with the checkerd flag waving at the end of the first session just as DC crossed the line. They painted the cover white and have no markings on it but it is obviously the genuine article. I wonder what the capture rate is set at for a car traveling at nearly 200mph?

Lynx is the only manufacturer with a camera capable of taking 10,000 fps. They own the chipset for the EtherLynx Pro, so the Lynx wanna-bes (Omega, Alge) can't produce a "me-too" unless they develop their own chipset from scratch.

The Lynx Pro camera was developed with Indy and NASCAR in mind, in a top-secret project. Both the IRL and NASCAR have bought the EtherLynx Pro now that it is on the market. I don't know if F1 has upgraded to the Pro, but since F1 has no budgets (it costs what it costs) for Timing & Scoring and TV production, I would bet they have.
