Conditions were good for racing at the Bellville velodrome in Cape Town South Africa. The 250m concrete track is housed in a building that also serves as the backdrop to the 400m track and field facility below it. The timing and technical areas can be shared by both sports. Turn one way for track, the other for cycling.

We begin our photo essay with a picture of half of the cases we carry on one of these jobs. Even though the wheeled Pelican 1650 and 1620 cases are easy to move around the cumulative effect of being a human air freight service wears on you. On average it takes 9 cases to transport our various timing, pc, lcd monitors, and photofinish gear.

Eugene announces the races using the Veloresults Commentary screen. Every timed and scored event is presented using this exclusive system. Any computer on the network can be used for this purpose.

The two photofinish cameras are used to verify the times for the Team Pursuit. The timer enabled cameras are linked by a network switch to the Cbox. The start signal is taken from the ALGE CYCLESTART TIMY

The newly redesigned PST display for the ALGE CYCLE START debuted in South Africa. This self powered display receives data from the ALGE TIMY running the CYCLESTART program. The new program features adjustable intervals and beeps. You can easily stop,resume and reset as well. It opens both normally open OMEGA type start gates and the 12v triggered BSM gates. We used homemade gates in South Africa with 100% success.

Click on TECHNICAL SUPPORT and DOWNLOADS. The GAZem works on any old crap PC with at least 800x600 screen res. We ran a parallel signal cable from the Home Pursuit display to the stage so we can watch the countdown.
