The 2005 edition of the NCCA Collegiate Mt. Bike Championships is underway at Seven Springs Mt. Resort in Champion, PA.

Over 300 athletes from around the country are participating.

Todays racing started at 07:45 with Short Course Cross Country racing in the snow. That quickly turned to mud.

The afternoon brought the 4 cross racing. Qualifications were timed with TT*ware.

Bob Dubbstadt, Joe Tirko, Terry & Rachel Shaffer have done their usual great job of organizing as well as providing timing and results.

PST assisted with photofinish. Pretty cool shot by Drew Schneider showing 4 different ways to finish the Division 1 mens final. Note the grass being dragged by the last guy as he brakes to avoid 3rd place who fell in front of him while crossing the line.

Millennium Sports built this slick Aluminum start gate. It uses high powered electromagnets to hold the gate up.

This event is allways a fun one with the teams showing their support for their fellow athletes and their love of the sport. Watch for a group showing up wearing nothing but Shimano Tape for the DH. Also not to be missed is the non-sanctioned "Naked Crit" usually happening on Saturday night. Sundays awards banquet also offers collegiate pranks (firecrackers indoors) and occasional flashing from the students. Hopefully the resort will not over-react to the harmless activities as they did in AF. Go Skyhawks!!
