It's a balmy -20C here outside the world's fastest velodrome. More world records have been set here than at any other velodrome.

Coach Livingston says this is attibutable to the wood surface being laid over a concrete sub-floor. No give. Andy Taus claims the reason is that the massive heat blowers actually create a slight tailwind down both straights.

Notice the old broken Swiss Timing scoreboard hanging above track. Fred had to bring GAZ displays with him since the Swiss stuff no longer works.

The logo on the right is for a Russian Beer, loosely translated as "Yarpivo"
