Snowmass was once again the site for the annual state championship event this year for MTB disciplines XC, SD, DH and MX. The gravity events also were C2 for UCI points and part of the USAC Pro Gravity calender. While the gravity events had huge names competing the XC took much of the media and spectators attention as Texan Lance Armstrong lined up in the pro field and captured the Colorado State Championship Cross Country title beating Jay Henry and Len Zanni (second and third place) by more than 3 minutes. Even with all of the frenzy of the star struck crowd Lance was very gracious and hung around and signed autographs and posed for photos with lots of people. I have a couple of shots of him riding on his first lap (leading the opening climb) that I will post up soon.
