What's the best software for cycling race?
I'am using Dupont, Good soft but in dos mode!

I need a software, where I could make my own reports!

We like and recommend the race software called Stage Race. http://www.stagerace.com

Sander VerHagen has been very helpful over the years. This software will be used at the upcoming AMGEN Tour of California and Tour De Georgia.

I too can recommend Stagerace. It is very easy to learn and implement. The reports are good too. I have used it this year at the Herald Sun Tour, and it will be used for the Geelong Women's World Cup in 2006.

Sander's program is very professionally written and is quite good. Last time I looked, it was specific to stage races, although you could, of course, use it for a one-stage road race. I don't think it's suitable for track.

I have my own software, used on many events, including Tour de Langawi, Tour of Britain and Tour of Ireland. But, I do not sell it as I prefer to work with the race organisations.

I had a look at the US scene some years ago and I found that stage races might have multiple categories of riders on the same course, starting in groups at different times & covering different distances. It was a requirement that the software help separate the categories at the finish. That's not a situation I'm used to, so if that's what you would be doing, you might want to check with Sander for his reaction.

I think that except for simple events, you should not attempt to write your own software as it's more complicated than you think to write a program that complies with the full UCI specification.

StageRace somewhat supports these categories (a.k.a. "masks"). You can enter up to ten categories and make each competitor a member of one or more such categories. At the end of the day StageRace will present a general individual classification for each of the categories. If you want a stronger separation, carrying it through for more of the classifications, you can do that by creating more than one event.
Anyway, so far StageRace supports the greater part of features that people have come up with. I agree with Seamus that it is entirely targetted at road, and probably useless for track (Skunkware has a good product for that, so I've been told). But for road it is the only software in its class that is (commercially) available, as far as I have ever come accross.

I am a member of the ACT Veteran Cycling club. I have independantly developed a simple to use spreadsheet, and a more complex Access database to store membership details, create results, and save historical race information.

The Access database has many time saving processes such as sign on sheets emailed to the race director to print off, and automatic emails for advertising to the local newspaper.

The spreadsheet is always free, and can be used to contain your membership data as well as create super fast results.

Alternately you can upgrade to the linked database, which will populate the spreadsheet automatically. The database system is free to use for one year, and after that an establishment fee is required, then a licence fee each year after that.

Basically the system is designed so that you can create race results for all entries showing times and historical comparisons, within minutes.

The system is best implemented with fixed allocation of race numbers for each club member, and visitor numbers created automatically. However you can run the club without fixed race numbers, except the sign on process is much slower.

I have use Tag Heuer Msports for the past couple of years with much success, you can set up many differt categories for rides and slelect how many events to time and combine together. It can be downloaded for free at http://www.vola.fr/templates/vola_racing_wax.html
It you have a Tag Heuer timer you can do the event timing through the same software.

Is this available in English?

Yes it is available it english. After you download it under configuration you select which language you would like to use.

Sorry, but I don't see anything in configuration for language.

When you first open the software accross the top there is a list of tabs to select from, se the attached photo.
