Timing Guys,
This is an unusual request, and one I normally wouldn't do except it's such a good cause... Normally I'm on the less sweaty side of events, but this time I'm competing and need some help. June 1st I'm riding 50k in a Tour de Cure event to help raise money for the American Diabetes Association. The thing that's a little different is that I'm going to do it on a unicycle! (It's a good cause so why not make it challenging) I'm just getting started with the fund raising part, and need all the help I can get. So, if you feel like helping . . that would be awesome... http://main.diabetes.org/site/TR/TourdeCure/TDC05178803...=personal&fr_id=5001 (check out the photo of me riding my 36 inch unicycle on that page!) Thanks in advance, -- Geoff Elder |

Nice Uni!
We'll be cheering you on! Will the ride be available live on live-timing? Jenna This message has been edited. Last edited by: Jenna, |

Jenna,
The unicycle has a 36 inch wheel, a small handlebar, a brake (used very carefully as you might imagine) and even a water bottle cage. I can ride about 12 or 13 miles an hour on the flat. Hills are fine unless they get steep and then get really difficult in a hurry since I can't change gear. And, sorry, no, the event won't be on Live-Timing. I don't think it's timed at all? They have feed stops along the way which I'm sure I'll be making use of... -- Geoff |
