A team member has had the unfortunate experience of killing his TIMY by plugging a DB25>DB25 serial cable between the timer and a desktop computer. BAD! BAD!

DO NOT PLUG ANY UNLABELED CABLE INTO YOUR TIMY. DO NOT PLUG A SOFTWARE DONGLE INTO YOUR TIMY.

Damage done by such actions will not be warranted!

No. Actually it was a customer that is now pretty embarrassed that he had to go borrow another timer and has a potential repair bill.
