With the new DUALTIMER program you can time races on a dual course. You can set it to recieve a common start or individual starts from the menu
MENU>DUALTIMER>COMMON Yes or No The inputs are as follows C0 - Right Start C1 - Right Finish C3 - Left Start C4 - Left Finish You can have more than one competitor on each course however you only have one queue for each course so if you are starting a second competitor and you have a finish, you could finish the wrong racer. Most other functions are similar to stopwatch and other programs with the CLR key combined with either red or green OK to clear either a finish or a start. You can also manually assign times. Display board output is similar to that of the TDC and will drive two boards simutaniously. You could use this program to have a running time stop and time back clock to start by jumping the C1 and C3 channels. I will be building my input box to access the channels for this great new program. An MC9 or TIDO would also work. |

The program works as described. We are taking some to the Killington clinic this weekend to get some feedback.

Positive all way around. The Dual Timer will give people the addtional incentive to invest in a TIMY as it can now be used for a greater variety of events.
Updates are now posted on www.phoenix-sports.com timy_dual_index.gif (31 Kb, 24 downloads) TIMY DUAL TIMER |

General channel assignments for ALGE timers.
We have the same concept for all devices like Timer S4, TdC 8000/8001 and Timy: c0 Start Right Course / Start c1 Finish Right Course / Finish c2 Int. Right Course / Int. 1 c3 Start Left Course / Int.2 c4 Finish Left Course / Int. 3 c5 Int. Left Course / Int.4 An issue that will occur is that the adapters for the NASTAR/Club software uses Channel 2 for the Left Start and Channel 3 for Left Finish. Using the TIMY as a stand alone unit for Dual Timing is the ONLY instance where the adapter would need to be altered. Continued use of the software and TIMY in "backup" mode requires no changes. Altering the adapter requires resoldering the DB 25 connector. Left Start: Current = pin 3 (channel 2) Move to = pin 4 (channel 3) Left Finish Current = pin 4 (channel 3) Move to = Pin 18 (channel 4) Then you have to reassign your channels in the NASTAR/CLUB software to match your new channels for the Left course. The Right can be left alone . NASTAR/ CLUB / NEW Assignments: Input 1 = Right (RED) Start Input 2 = Right (RED) Finish Input 3 = Not Used Input 4 = Left (BLUE) Start Input 5 = Left (BLUE) Finish This message has been edited. Instead of modifying our box as Fred describes, I dug around and found an old SST LT200 input box for modification. The circuit board was removed along with the DB25 conectors, new cable was then installed and connected to the inputs along with a leg running to a DB9 connector for computer use.
