We just got new computers that do not have serial ports, and I cannot get the Timy to communicate with Split Second. We are running Windows XP Pro, Split Second 6.2 Rev 1, and timing is enabled. I connected the Timy and turned it on, loaded the "Timy and Timy 2 USB driver V2.50" from Alge, and confirmed it was loaded in Device Manager. Windows popup confirmed new hardware was installed and ready to use. Then, I went to Split Second Setup and test, selected the USB input and selected the Alge Timy as the timer. The setup screen indicates that Timy is not connected, and the Timy Control screen says Timy USB may not have been installed. When I click Open on the Timy Control screen, I get an Access Violation. I have tried this on three computers with the same result every time. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?
You don't have to. Split Second incorporates the ALGE driver into their software as is. That driver should be good for SST, Com to File, and USB updater

check usb assignment port and make sure it is a number 10 or lower. Splitsecond only recognizes 1st 10 USB port assignments. Windows has in past reassigned USB port each time you re-boot or re-start. If you didn't get the Alge cable driver you would/could have usee a USB to sierial driver & cable.
The ports are all below 10, and we are using a serial to USB adapter. We worked it out by loading the comf.exe file and the Timy USB driver as Fred suggested.
