Timy upgrade failure v591Go ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()

I was doing an upgarde from 591 to current via serial. Computer connected, did an erase, and asked for a power cycle. I can see the 0561 boot loader, but it will not communicate to the PC. PC and Cable are good (or the erase would not have worked). I was hoping to upgrade so that I can use the USB upgrade path, however, I'm lead to believe that I can't with the 561 boot loader. Before I send this back to Roman to kick start (or to add to a technology toss), are there any other solutions? Mike

We have seen them hiccup on upgrading. We usually have the best luck removing the battery pack and reapplying power via the external supply.

Thanks Fred, Been there, done that. Should have mentioned that. I also can't get the USB software loaded on 3 different computers. When I run it, I get "Error init Timy object" and that is followed by "USBIOCOM not registered! Use regsvr32 usbio230.dll". I gather the DLL was not unpacked on the installation, as I can't find it on either my desktop or laptop. Running regsvr32 usbio230.dll doesn't solve the problem either. Hopefully Roman will surface on Monday and he can comment. Mike

I too had same thing happen. Timy reverted back to old OS 0561 and is dead - unresponsive. Tried all suggestions in the above posts to no avail. What was the solution to this? Thanks all, Bob

The problem was resolved using the disconnect power, retry, disconnect retry method. It did take a dozen attempts however.
