Ok. So the DB9 serial connection needs to get into the PC either via a direct serial port (com 1) or a USB to serial adapter. Once you can see the Com port ( Com 9 or below) in Windows device manager you should be ready to go. Split Second setup and test and select TAG CP520/705 in the drop down menu and test. You only have a start/input 1 and finish/input 2. Make sure you unblock the inputs on the face of the timer.
This connector is set up and mapped for connection to a TIMY ONLY. Connecting this to a parallel port on a computer will not provide power for your photocell or headset circuits. If you are using a 520 you should use an external headset amp and batteries for your photocells however you may be able to power photocells via DIN connectors and proper cables if you do the following. (from the TIDO manual on the Alge website)

Power Supply:
The TIDO does not need a power supply or batteries. The TIDO can be supplied by the Timy directly. In case you want to have power supply output on pin 4 of the pho-tocell DIN-connectors, than you need a external power supply at the TIDO. Suitable as external power supply is the ALGE power supply PS12 connected at one of the photocell DIN-sockets.

May heat up the Headset circuit too??
