Using ALGE Com to File to create a file to import to software with the TIMY
1) Set the TIMY in "Backup" 2) Operate the program with bib number entry. Remember that using the keypad will only allow you to record times to the 100th. Plugging a sensor into the channel 0 for start and channel 1 for finish will allow the recording of 10,000ths. 3) Plug the TIMY into the PC serial port 4) Start the Com to File program 5) Change the baud rate to 9600 6) Select User defined 7) Click on the User defined Tab 8) Set Column 1 to Leer and Number of Characters to 0 9) Set Column 2 to 1 and Number of Characters to 6 10) Set Column 3 to 10 and Number of Characters to 20 11) Go back to main menu 12) Select Record 13) Select a pathway for the file "tabelle" 14) The program will list something similar when it is ready; C:\algetest\tabelle Recording started: Start the data-transfer. After transfering press "Stop record". 15) Press the Menu key on the TIMY 16) Scroll down to Interface 17) Select RS-232 18) Scroll down to Send Memory 19) Press Green OK 20) You will now see the contents of the memory dumped to the PC 21) Press Stop Record 22) You can now view the file by pressing the Tabelle Tab 23) Exit Com to File 24) Open the file "tabelle" in Excel 25) Save as .csv file with the name you want. 26) Import as you want into other software. Your file should look like this if you used a photocell connected to the din plug on the TIMY 1255, 17:53:18.7587 00 234, 17:53:30.6593 00 15, 17:53:41.2272 00 http://www.alge-timing.com/alge/download/software/comf.exe |
