In an indiviual race with many competitors with 1 min start intervals. The 1st set of finishers complet race before last set has started....

If you sync 2 Timys.

Can you input bib # into the Start Timy and input bib # into the Finish Timy then...

Will each Timy keep the start and finish bibs independant and not increment the other?

Are you then going to dump the data from each TIMY into a program like COMTRAN to create the NET times? Your concept will work just fine. It will require a little practice and a recipe sheet.

Is it going to be acceptable to dump the data after the race is over?

For our next competition I just want to have 2 tapes - Start Timy with Start Bibs and times on "C0" channel, Finish Timy with Finish Bibs and time on"C1" channel.

These will then be hand input into the PC.

Next project will be to dump data into PC from both Timys.

This is for biathlon and it is OK to dump data after last finish. (shooting results and other data still has to come in)

Yes, practice and recipe sheet.

Any other words of wisdom and experience?

It works great, we used them in that fashion for backup hand timing in alpine skiing. As long as you synchronize them properly together to start with.

We use the backup program which records the inputs on the chanel you use. All you have to do is input the bib number before the impulse.

After the fact you can connect to a PC and upload each set of results. Many programs can do this. Even Hyperterminal from windows can be used once you have figured out the right settings.

The only other factor to consider is the timer drift so I suggest that you do a test on the two timer at the end to verify the drift.
