I have a GAZ4 scoreboard and a couple of the number bars (no clue on technical name) are sticking. Can I lubricate them with something or will they need to be replaced? Any help would be appreciated.

You have to determine if it is a digit or a ribbon cable issue. Ribbon cable issues are usually noted by the fact that the same vane is malfunctioning across the board. Each digit is universal. Try moving the bad ones to a spot where the current one is working. Use program 11 with the toggle down to quickly make all the digits flash 88888 and blank. Bad digits can be easily replaced. PST stocks digits and ribbon cables.

DO NOT SPRAY THE DIGITS WITH ANY OIL OR WD40!!!

They do not need to be lubed!

You are the master. I switched the digit with a good one and the good digit is now sticking in the same spot. That makes 4 out of the 5 digits are sticking on the top. Conclusion: ribbon is bad.

Can I mess with the ribbon or do I need to order a new one? Thanks for the help.

Probably the IDC 16 crimp on connector at the main circuit board is the culprit. We can mail you a couple of connectors and you can crimp them on next to the bad one and try again.
