The ALGE TDC 8000/8001 outputs "time to beat" if you set up the Menu 19 selection for: D-Board Channel 2 = BEST TIME The concept is that you have two lines of GAZ 4 or D-line displays. One set on program 0 like normal for the Running time that comes naturally out of the TDC. The other set has the same switch settings but is on Program 2 (rotary dial 2 or Ad 2 ) Displays left on Program 0 with Channel 2 set on BEST TIME will display the last racer to finish or the STANDING time. You can make a DIN plug with both the channels active and a common ground. Then split the channels at the display end. The Yellow/Black banana plugs on the back of the TDC 8000/8001 can be used for Channel 2 output as well. The "rank" digits are not used on the "Time to Beat" board.

When using ALGE Displays for ski racing, is there a way to NOT let the forerunners time to show up. If they are faster than the competitors, then the time to beat is invalid. I have tried to run the forerunners with the display board not connected, but as soon as I connect it, it automatically shows the forerunners time. Their times are in memory of the 8000.
