I want my scoreboard "Phoenix A" to display the established par time for the course before the actual race starts. I have the board and timer interfaced with nastars timing program, and the only method I can think of would be to do a manual time entry on a "make believe skier" and change the timer display time.
Is there a short cut to doing this? Any way to make the timer display a time until a new impluse is added? Turn off power on timer, unplug from computer. . . any ideas that have worked well for anyone else might save me some trial and error time. Thanks.

Sounds like an interesting idea. The software could possibly be manipulated to display the times but an option would be the best. I will try this in the next few days.

The software option idea must be submitted to Geoff directly.

It wasn't as easy to manipulate the program as I thought it would be. I can't figure out a way to display the "manual time entry". Any other ideas as to how I currently could display the par time?

Try using the manual entry of time on a competitor in the competitor edit screen. Click on the time and choose the send to display option and turn off the power on the display before it has a chance to clear (if the display is far away get help or crank up the freeze time and run for it). The time will be displayed until you turn the power back on or bump it and jog some of the panes. Wink

Another option:

If you've got a Palm OS device with a serial cable, you can go to my web site and download TimingUtils for Palm OS. It is freeware. This little utility enables you to send whatever digits you want to an array of ALGE GAZ displays.

Please remember to read the HELP once you've hotsynced the program onto your Palm.

1) Go to www.skunkware.tv
2) Click "Tech Support & Downloads"
3) In the TIMING TOOLS section you will find TimingUtils for Palm OS.

Remember that Palm device serial cables are NULL, so you'll need to re-NULL your cable with a null adapter before attempting to send data to a GAZ array.
