WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH OUR SCOREBOARD. IT POWERS UP OK, AND SAYS ALGE.BUT IT WILL NOT RECIEVE A SIGNAL FROM THE
TIMER. i HAVE TRIED BOTH THE 4000 AND 8000 WITH SHORT WIRES FROM EACH. SO IF YOU RECONNECT THE 12 VOLT SUPPLY IT WILL FLIP FROM ALGE TO ALGE. STILL CANOTT SEND ANY SIGNALS THAT WILL CHANGE THE DISPLAY. PLEASE ADVISE. THANKS LEE. Your ALGE GA82 (1982-1991) display should be ready to receive data. The ALGE message usually means that the electronics are working. Try to make sure that the toggle switches under the display are set correctly. The two switches set apart means hours:min:sec, both to the left side means min:sec:100th, both to the right side means bib:rank. The thumbwheel should be on "0".
Try turning the DIN plug that goes into the TDC 4000 180 degrees. One direction is for running time and splits, the other for time to beat. The Tdc 8000 has two display board output options. Press ALT/MENU and make sure that running time is selected on both channel 1 and 2. Then try the banana plug output on the Tdc 8000. It should put out running time as well. Take the DIN connector apart and make sure that there is good solder joints on both pins needed to output times. Remove that back cover of the display and make sure that all of the ribbon cables are correctly seated. We have main circuit boards for GA 82 displays in stock.
