A recently discovered trick with reports and other information display options for live-timing.com is that you can place html tags in the report for display of pictures, hyperlinks, changes to the font etc. Your creativity with the tags and a line maximum of somewhere abouts 100 charecters is the only limit.

John, and others in his footsteps, have been very creative in their insertion of graphics in Live-Timing.
Excellent!
I had been trying to work out a way to acknowledge the brains behind the results but I'm glad John & Cath beat me to it.
The limit per line was 120 characters, but in the interests of creativity I've changed that to 200, at least at the web side (I haven't checked if it's also limited at the software end).

Keep up the good work...

Pretty cool idea, but how do you do it? I'd like to put our Club logo on the race listing, but don't understand where to put the html code...

You can use HTML in the Ski Area such as here with the Bretton Woods Logo instead of the resort name:
http://www.live-timing.com/race.php?r=5779&u=0

or in the race name such as here with the TD Bank North Eastern Cups:
http://www.live-timing.com/race.php?r=4983&u=0

or in the message as in either of those (All Sports Logo.

DON'T Use href as it will MESS up reports.

Good luck.

This is great! I understand placing the HTML in the name of the race, but I can barely fit the tag for the image in the name, leaving no space for name itself. Looking at others, I know I am doing spmething wrong here....

This trick to this is to have access to a webpage with a relatively short name, make the name of the image very short (like a few letters .jpg) and put it in the root directory so you don't need more characters for the root.

Remember, if you use a logo in the Race Name, it has to include the name of the race, no space for Text. Same for ski area name. Finally, the logo in the live-timing message will replace the ability to actually add a message...

Don't worry though, all this will change soon, Geoff is working on a new live-timing protocol where you will be able to upload and then call on logos for your listings. The back-end methodology will also be changing from the current simple HTML calls. Stay tuned...
