Forced to use a new race venue I had the option of running 5000' of wire, and picking it up, or going wireless. GPS said the haul was 1.6km over vairied terrain (not line of sight). We ran the first day with a shorter haul for Slalom that was line of sight without a single hickup. All transmissions were received with the TED 400 system and a compliment of clocks at the start and finish. Day two went the long haul and again no transmissions failed to reach the clock at the finish. We had more trouble with the radios for communication than with the transmission of the start impulses. All times from system A! This was a non-scored race.
