Recently used a set of Alge TED's for transmitting to GAZ scoreboards with an S4 in Program 4(Differential timing). When using the TED units the display boards improperly display the "b" and "r" course description as "2" and "-". Only solution was to hard wire? Is this a TED problem with transmitting letters verse numbers? Update chips in TED's?
The TED does only work with the standard GAZ format. If you send a b or r it will not work, unless you use the direct mode (position 6, see manual). Here you need a shortcut between PIN2 and 3 on the DIN plug. Using this mode, the TED takes any data, but is always on the sending mode (uses much battery).
