We have a paper manual in our archive. We have a couple of units with marginal printers in our collection.

Does the manual have any info on the computer output cable and how to make a new one?

If you are hooking it up to the computer, you need a 9 pin connector. It only uses 2 wires one wire to position #2 and the other to position #5.

You are too kind. In fact I have misplaced most of the information on these cables over the years. In general though the 1/8 mono plug that goes into a 505-501 or the 8 lane adapter on a 503 should be:

Tip = signal = pin 2 DB9
Ring (sleeve) = ground = pin 5 DB9

Make one up and try it. If it doesn't work, reverse the wires at the DB 9 end and try again.

Write us back and let people know what worked.

Thanks for the info, and suggestions. The ski area wanted to make sure they were running for the holiday week and just went ahead and ordered a cable from Reliable Racing. Paid way too much for it but cheaper than loosing more days of racing. I also found a similar cable in my collection from an older digital cable that can probably be used as a back-up or spare if needed.
