I have 2 problems with one of my countdown clocks.
1) can I turn up the volume on the horn?
2) Horn works, but numbers don't change. Is this because battery is old and not taking a charge?

I tested my clocks immediately after removing them from charger. One worked and one exhibited symptom 2.

I guess we are all getting old, because the horn volume is new this year. I could hear them fine last year...

Help, ideas will be much appreciated.

Are these start clocks? ASC 1 I am guessing or Tag 920 or 930? A little more info would be great.

These displays are part of a TIMY and display countdown system for track cycling.

Please change the gel cell batteries in the displays. Remove the screws and then the digits. The batteries are 1.2 amp hour, 12v batteries that should be sourced locally.

Make sure the connections are sound. There are 3 leads coming from the TIMY to the displays. A common ground, a data line for the display, a sound line for the horn.

Thanks Jenna. Thanks Fred.
I will get and install a new battery and confirm results. It threw me that the horn worked, but then I read an old thread that indicated numbers stop before the horn stops working.

I use the DIN connector and confirmed no resistance on each pin for each set of wires. Both clock horns have the same volume. can I remount the horn outside the plexi plate to increase volume?
