Is it possible to send a finish impulse to the S-4 other than by the DIN connection? Can you use the c-3, c-6, or c-9 banana jacks to input a finish pulse? I can get it to print but my computer using Split Second software will not get a finish unless I am hooked into the DIN finish on the the back of the S-4. This means if the cables are banana plug type I have to use a banana jack to DIN adapter.

You sure can. We use only the banana plugs on the back of the S4 exclusively. You just need to change your channel mapping in Timer Setup page. Make sure you select the proper tab (single course or dual course) and just identify what channels will be used for what stations. All will work fine.

How do you "change your channel mapping in the timer set up page"? Is that something you do in SplitSecond or something you do with the S-4?

I see now. I went to set up and test in SplitSecond, clicked on input mapping over on the upper right corner of the window, and changed the "Start on B (c-3) from "not used" to "finish". It is interesting that in addition to learning timing I am also learning about hardware, software, electronics, etc.
