Second problem from this weekend. Our Alge ASC1 startclock is just stopping (in the middle of a 15 sec. interval race of course), it's only the second hand of the analog function and always stops at 12 on the dial. The countdown, semaphore and digital clock keep working however. Any ideas?

The ASC1 shuts down its functions based on battery power. The Analog hands shut down first, then the other functions. Replace the battery. Try running the clock with AC power plugged in. If it works ok then the battery is really at fault.
It is a lead acid battery that is held in place by a carrier inside the clock. Remove the four machine screws that hold the face plate onto the case. Reach into the semaphore and help pull the face plate out. The face plate is connected to the main circuit board by ribbon cables. Remove them and set the face plate aside. The whole battery carrier can be removed. The 5.5 mm nuts can be removed by an appropriate nut driver or needle nose pliers. The battery carrier can also be sent back for service. |
