The ALGE S3 timer has a new use. There is interest in the field for creating carving courses using brush gates with automatic timing. The S3 timer can be fitted with an "automatic" eprom that will allow a time to be displayed on any ALGE scoreboard and then reset after 8 seconds.

Use a set of TED wireless transmitters and you can set up a course anywhere.

We are going to build a set for use at Bear Creek this winter for training.

There are several groups that have old S3 timers and GA 82 displays. This is a great way to use the older displays as well.

Your ALGE rep should be able to get one. Make sure you take the cover off your S3 and find out how pins the eprom has. The eprom is located behind the faceplate in the front right side. Give the serial number of the timer, the number of pins the eprom has to your rep. He will be able to contact ALGE and have them make an eprom. It will probably take a few weeks to accomplish.
