Recently I found 2 ALGE S1-II devices. On the websites (google,yahoo)I could not find any information about them. Does anybodu know more about them?

You have some old classic ALGE timers from the early 1970's

The SII were the first ALGE timers used in North America. The US Ski Team bought several of them to use for training. They used to set one at the start and one at the finish. The coaches would write down the "reference" time of each skiers passage. They would then calculate the net times. Both timers would be started from zero as this timer cannot do true time of day.

An interesting collectors piece. They still make pretty good headset amps as well (albeit bulky)

I tried to fix those Timers S1-II. Unfortunately they were hardly used and I successfully restored just one of them – is 100% functional and in very good conditions. The other one has a display not working properly and missing a button.
On the picture “Timing gear from last century” you will also find Timer S3, printer P3 and also beeper. All of them still work.
S3 rear view – very good example of destroyed case from leaked batteries.
Delay time switcher is broken. My guess: the switch was probably damaged during somebody’s effort to take the timer apart.

Parts for these timers might be still available. We have several boxes of old S3 timers and so forth if you want to make the effort. We can mail you parts and you can get it going again. Classic Coke does a great job of removing the battery acid from the 8 lane S3. Just disassemble the timer with a 5.5mm nut driver and then bathe the case parts with the Coke. It will fizz and remove the acid. Scrub off and rinse. Let dry and reassemble. The 8 lane S3 is still very useful as a "dual" timer timebase with "Fiddleware" or other software programs.
