We have recently purchased a nice reasonable sized battery pack with built in charger. The 12 pound "Mity Mite" is designed for jump starting a car but looks like it can be really useful for timing applications. The unit has a cigerette lighter socket and battery clamps to attach to a car battery. It has a built in charger that connects to any extension cord. It is the model PS-120A made by Schumacher Electric Corporation. 800-621-5485

I have the same battery pack BUT....I misplaced the 110V charger. Can you tell me the specs off of yours so I can find a replacement? Output voltage / amps off the wall charger.

Our Mitey Mite has the charger built in. Otherwise use any good charger made for lead acid "gel cell" batteries.

The Power Sonic PSC 12250-A is a decent small charger. 300 MA with initial voltage of 14.9 VDC tapering to 13.8 when completed.

We are now using this battery pack.

It is really nice to watch the battery level go down with the analog meter
