Remove top cover of S3 by taking out the screw on each side of the unit. After removing the cover, look behind the LCD screen. Behind the screen are two posts; one labled "ACC." (nicads) and the other one is labled "BATT." (batteries). Remove the wire from the "ACC" post and place it on the post marked "BATT."
You can still plug the power supply in as the jumper is no longer sending voltage to the batteries. Be aware that an ALGE P3 or P4 printer draws alot of power during use and will quickly drain the batteries if not plugged in. Seiko printers have their own power supply and do not drain the S3.
