Well, maybe I've seen a worse day for running a Nordic event, but it hasn't been recently. 35 degrees at 6 am, raining hard, temps slowly dropping all day, ending with sleet, snow and a big wind. 600 competitors from the top of Mt Mansfield in 120 waves of 5 every 30 seconds, down the Toll Road then another 6 miles into Stowe village. Two divisions, Classic and Freestyle, plus a killer combo - first race the freestyle event, then rush back up to the mt, up the lift again and do it all over in the classic race.
