After reading Jordon's "Long post on Wireless timing Experience" I am left wondering whether I have missed a change in rules. Is wireless allowed on the primary system? If so, when was this changed? If not, any ideas when we will see the move to modern technology?

FIS changed the ruls too late for USSA to follow. Organizers can follow the FIS rules. You can find them at:
http://www.fisski.com/rulesandpublications/alpineskiing/alpinetiming.html

The rules do not actually dictate how the tranmission of times is done...it could be via skiing down after the race with the tapes from the start timer.

We did use a wireless transmission of the impulse. The important thing to remember is that until USSA changes there rules, you must follow the FIS rules which require 4 homologated timers.

Please contact me before you attempt to do this.
