Do you think that is a function of the Flash Player? I know that these type of players don't like Firefox. I would try it on IE just for laughs.

The problem is that FIS is trying to run their live timing site without load balancing, i.e. on one server.
During our three DH training runs here at Lake Louise, FIS live timing worked perfectly, because only a few hundred people were connected. For the race, their link from Eurosport resulted in about 10,000 simultaneous connections, which brought their server to its knees. I don't think FIS will have anything more sophisticated in place today for the S-G, but give it a try anyway, see what you find, and post your findings here. All of our live timing packets went out to them as per their spec, the rest is up to FIS. Methinks next week FIS will be moving in some additional hardware horsepower, i.e. multiple servers and a load balancer. |
