How should race files be posted on a website so they can be either imported or opened by SplitSecond? I haven't been able to import or open either of these files.
Under import, you are instructed to choose what 'clolumn 1' should be, but column 1 is usually finsish place, not first or second run. Finish place is not available as choice for the first column.
The error for the .xml file states that there is no race data. The data is viewable in netscape when selected.

For importing data into SST software any Comma or Tab separated file will work. You can map out the import to ignore unwanted fields and to correctly identify the rest. The file that you mention is the .txt hard copy results of the race that is generated from the "send ski data" button. This is not comma or tab separated and cannot be imported without much effort. The .xml that is generated from the same button is not a working race file but rather a results file used for USSA and FIS scoring. Also not acceptable for importing (unless you run the USSA parser) but can be viewed as race results from a browser. If you want to have data to open later you need to do a "Save As" from the file menu and get the race file from there. The other option is to export data (also on the File menu) and get the fields that you want for later. If you must get it from the .txt results file that is posted you will have to carve it out with a spreadsheet program and use the fixed width for collums option as needed. After the clean up you can save as tab or comma separated and import into SST software.
Geoff makes the results files so they are just that, results. There should be no reason to post files that are able to be opened, and then manipulated, by the SST software. What are you trying to achieve?
