Received the 4000 to PC wire that you sent us, thanks. From what I can gather, the only data that the 4000 transfers to the PC is the final run time for a racer. Is there any way to get it to send out time of day starts and finishes? I suspect not, but thought I'd ask. We also have an S3 and wondered if there is any way to get it
to output time of day starts and finishes to a PC? Thought I'd save some time and ask rather than just play around for hours and find out it won't.

The S3 will most definitely send out Start TOD and Finish TOD to a PC in Hour Print (HP) mode. You or your software will have to calculate the NETs from the
TODs.

The S3's serial port params are 2400, N, 7, 2.

As far as cabling, I haven't even seen an S3 in about two years, so I forget the pins for the cable, but I'm sure The Magical Mystical Fred can whip you up the proper cable in a jiffy.

The cable (green) between the TDC and the PC is the same one used for the S3. Plug the cable into the printer port and the printer into the scoreboard port. The printer port sends TOD in both directions, the scoreboard port in only one. When in doubt, just keep turning the din plugs 180 degrees until it works. Then label them.
