We recently ran across a dongle/key issue we've never experienced before. Using the FIS version for a mass start XC event we had just started 300 racers when the software went to demo mode (verified and enabled before start) with the usual 2 minute warning. A software restart got it going, but it happened 2 more times. Computer and key had been used regularly with no problems, key and USB port all appear fine, no changes made to ports prior. Any ideas?

Bill, how was the key plugged in to the computer? I had this happen once this winter. At some point, Windows didn't like the memory stick that was also attached. The race file had been on the stick and moved to the hard drive. It was saved to the default location on the HD. The stick was never removed, prior to the issue. The removal of the memory stick and a reboot of the computer fixed it and the problem never resurfaced for 3+ months.

Key was in a USB port on the computer. Race file had been transfer the day before and placed on the HD, computer had been re-started a couple of times since the transfer, no flash drive.
