Version 5.21: 'file access denied'

I am running Split Second on a Windows 98 machine and every so often I cannot open or close a race file because I get the warning 'file access denied'. Geoff had told me to delete a default (.dat) file and that did the trick last time but not this time. Maybe I'm forgetting something?

Throw the W98 PC away.

You can buy perfectly good used notebooks on the IBM website for $500.00 loaded with Windows XP Pro.

You are going to continue to have problems trying to beat an old system into working.

We figure a notebook PC is useful for a max of 3 years.
