Hi!
I tried a new software named SkiTime and,
when setting the timer, you must select a
"channel" for start wand and for the photocell.
I chose channel 0 for start and 1 for cell.
The problem is, no matter which channel (0 to
17) is set for the cell, I don't get finish signal in the software.
But on the sniffer port, I see the correct signal coming from the S4!
The start signal is OK if channel set to 0.
I get a correct start.

How can you make a link between a channel number
and the din/banana plugs? Is there any combination that doesn't work whith S4?

That's what I thought. I have SZ signal for start and K1 signal for photocell (plugged on "A" socket) on the sniffer port window:
it is the proof that the software receive
those signals.
So, I choose "channel" 1 for finish. But the software do not recognize the K1 signal
comming from this channel! Very strange.
In fact, in this software, you don't insert a channel code (like dTris, you enter K1_ at the keyboard for finish, and don't forget the space character!). You simply pick a channel number in a list, from 0 to 17. So I picked the "1".

And there is a funny port sniffer that show, in the same window, that we receive a signal code from
S4 through USB port. And I receive a K1 if I look at
this window, for a photocell signal.

So, timing a run, I would have a correct finish signal. But nothing! There is so many combinations
signal code versus signal number. Maybe that there's
some that works and some not. Any suggestions?
I played with this program a little in the beginning of the ski season. I was able to get it to work and accept starts and finishes from a TIMY. Kinda cute but what is the point? With software options from Broder and Elder there is no reason to get fussy with the Gnomeware. Dont forget that the skunk fidleware is still free and works with most timers and feeds display boards.
It's because I just want to try new products
to compare. Versus Skunkware, SkiTime have many
capabilities that are very interesting. And it
work on Windows platform. Look at his "Help"
topic, it is VERY WELL documented, very complete.

Finally, I've submited my "channel" problem to
them (All Terrain Software), and they solved it
in one day. It was a software problem; was
programmed to understand "K01" code instead of
"K1". Received the patch and SkiTime now
working completely.

For those who are timing with ALGE S4 ...
